{"id":812,"date":"2022-07-25T01:38:24","date_gmt":"2022-07-25T08:38:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/?p=812"},"modified":"2022-07-25T01:38:24","modified_gmt":"2022-07-25T08:38:24","slug":"today-is-a-good-day-for-the-satanic-temple-to-release-its-finances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/qs.gehenna.ynh.fr\/?p=812","title":{"rendered":"Today is a good day for The Satanic Temple to release its finances"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A TikToker spent two minutes talking about why The Satanic Temple can\u2019t help you get an abortion and doesn\u2019t deserve your support.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TST threatened to sue her.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video alignright\"><video controls poster=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Still-Frame.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/va.media.tumblr.com\/tumblr_rfar2hiCdY1ylrneb.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>The Satanic Housewife&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@thesatanichousewife\/video\/7110277942231534891\">forced retraction video<\/a><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">But when it comes to The Satanic Temple, there\u2019s always more and it\u2019s always worse.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-primary-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: As of Nov. 23, 2022, the Temple has filed a lawsuit against her anyway, despite her reading their retraction. <br>[<a href=\"https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/images\/7\/78\/D-1-GN-22-006797_-_Plaintiff%27s_Original_Petition_w_Ex_76AC6EC7_-_2022-11-23.pdf\">Complaint<\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, we would say that regardless of the facts, this was pretty grossly unfair and was solely based on the imbalance in financial resources between a woman and a \u201cfamous international religion\u201d bullying her into submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But then, as some defenders of The Satanic Temple are already typing, of&nbsp;<em>course<\/em>&nbsp;we would say that; we\u2019re \u201cbiased\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So it may be more relevant to you that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/u\/Bargeul\/\">u\/Bargeul<\/a>, a moderator of TST&#8217;s own unofficial subreddit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SatanicTemple_Reddit\/\">r\/SatanicTemple<\/a> also looked into what she said in her video and came to a similar conclusion independently. See the article: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/sataniceurope.wordpress.com\/2022\/07\/17\/the-struggle-for-justice\/\">The Struggle for Justice<\/a>\u201d for another perspective there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the interests of meeting everyone at their level, we made&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@queersatanic\/today-is-a-good-day-for-the-satanic-temple-to-release-its-finances-40a2f648b24b\">a lengthier overview article<\/a>&nbsp;because this is a very long piece addressing what The Satanic Temple took issue with enough to cry \u201cdefamation\u201d. Here is also the same guide but in brief:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/today-is-a-good-day-for-the-satanic-temple-to-release-its-finances\/2\/\">first section<\/a>&nbsp;is looking at the claim that it was defamation to refer to longtime TST leader and current \u201cDirector of Ministry\u201d Greg Stevens as being really good friends with Milo Yiannopoulos in the present tense rather than \u201clong ago\u201d in 2016. But in the process, we also uncovered new details about Stevens\u2019 history with rape-apologist and \u201cmale supremacist\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.splcenter.org\/fighting-hate\/extremist-files\/individual\/mike-cernovich\">Mike Cernovich<\/a>&nbsp;before and after that time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/today-is-a-good-day-for-the-satanic-temple-to-release-its-finances\/3\/\">second section<\/a>&nbsp;is almost entirely about the reported sexual assault in the Austin chapter that TST investigated for themselves and therefore have declared that anyone talking about it defames them. It is not, however, an isolated event, and just prepare yourself for it because it\u2019s real bad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/today-is-a-good-day-for-the-satanic-temple-to-release-its-finances\/4\/\">third section<\/a>&nbsp;is about the Temple\u2019s SLAPP suit against us. Shoutout to TST lawyer Matt Kezhaya for logging onto god\u2019s own&nbsp;Reddit.com&nbsp;to help establish that, yes, that is exactly what The Satanic Temple is doing to us.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/today-is-a-good-day-for-the-satanic-temple-to-release-its-finances\/5\/\">fourth section<\/a>&nbsp;is the <em>particularly <\/em>detailed one, but that\u2019s because we have to reference so many court depositions and other government documents directly. On the record and otherwise under oath, The Satanic Temple\u2019s owners Doug Misicko and Cevin Soling say things that they will admit are untrue but just want you to think aren\u2019t that big of a deal, like whether corporations are owned by who they say they are, whether they use their legal names all the times they\u2019re supposed to, or whether the official treasurer keeps track of the little things like where nonprofit and for-profit money is going.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/today-is-a-good-day-for-the-satanic-temple-to-release-its-finances\/6\/\">final section<\/a>&nbsp;is a recap, and trying to contextualize all of this in the big picture, especially as TST continues to talk about how they care about FREE SPEECH no matter HOW UNPOPULAR\u2014but of course carve out an exception like former members, journalists, billboard companies, and TikTokers. When you give TST resources for abortion fights, every indication is that their real financial priorities are many, many other things more personal to them than that. TST\u2019s head of ministry was friends with Yiannopoulos, long ago, but they have not been friends for many years.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we begin, this is fucking bonkers on its face, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Essentially TST says, &#8220;Yes, Greg Stevens and Milo Yiannopoulos <em>used to<\/em> be good anti-feminist friends during GamerGate and play minigolf together. But that was <em>way back <\/em>in 2016.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe it&#8217;s just a function of getting older, but that sure feels a lot more like &#8220;just the other day&#8221; for a grown-ass man who was <em>in his 40s<\/em> when he joined The Sastanic Temple after having been <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20161027203549\/https:\/\/gregstevens.com\/1994\/12\/09\/sorry-no-no\/\">active in the &#8220;men&#8217;s rights&#8221; community<\/a> since the mid-1990s, based on his own website&#8217;s articles.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Greg-No-doesnt-always-mean-no.png\" alt=\"GREG STEVENS Sorry, &quot;no&quot; doesn't always mean &quot;no&quot; Culture | December 9th, 1994 This article is actually extracted from a Usenet post I made in alt.mens-rights back on December 9, 1994. It makes us have romantic flings that we sometimes regret, and which women are increasingly encouraged to regard as rape. Despite progressive propaganda, a regrettable drunken fumble does not equate to rape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It should be remembered that the researchers only measured reported rapes, not convicted ones. With college-age women effectively being taught that regret equals rape, is it any wonder that advocacy research papers are able to concoct high numbers of sexual assaults?<br>&#8230;<br>Moral panic about \u201crape culture\u201d has led to gross violations of due process against male students on campus, who can now be hauled before campus kangaroo courts to answer charges of sexual assault with no adequate legal representation and very low burdens of proof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This isn\u2019t about protecting women. It\u2019s about man-hating. It\u2019s a confected moral panic directed against young, male, mostly white American college students despite the fact that American college campuses are among the safest places for a woman to be, and despite the fact that rape rates have been dropping for 30 years.<\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160106195856\/https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/sports\/2016\/01\/06\/feminists-and-progressives-attack-college-football-with-more-dodgy-rape-statistics\/\">Breitbart.com<\/a>: &#8220;Feminists and Progressives Attack College Football with More Dodge Rape Statistics&#8221;<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Greg Stevens also <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170707100702\/https:\/\/gregstevens.com\/2014\/10\/29\/anti-feminist-feminist-mean\/\">called himself an anti-feminist<\/a> back around that time, though he likely didn&#8217;t go as far as his good friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"free-speech\">For that and many other reasons, a local Satanic Temple chapter tried to protest Yiannopoulos attending an event at Cal Poly before Doug Misicko a.k.a. &#8220;Lucien Greaves&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190211114434\/https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/social-justice\/2017\/01\/19\/the-satanic-temple-distances-itself-from-cal-poly-anti-milo-event\/\">called up Breitbart<\/a> to let them know The Satanic Temple unequivocally defended Yiannopoulos&#8217;s &#8220;right to free speech&#8221;. Misicko would <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20170702232500\/https:\/\/hautemacabre.com\/2017\/06\/never-let-your-activism-be-artless-an-interview-with-lucien-greaves-of-the-satanic-temple\/\">claim in an interview later that year<\/a> he didn&#8217;t know anything about the guy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I\u2019m not sure what danger [Milo Yiannopoulos has] caused to anybody. I\u2019ve never read his material. I\u2019ve never listened to him speak,&#8221; Misicko said. &#8220;Even still, after having defended his right to speak, I still don\u2019t give a shit about what he\u2019s saying. I defend the principle of Free Speech, and when you defend a principle, you don\u2019t only defend it selectively. If you can\u2019t support it when it incidentally doesn\u2019t benefit you, you\u2019re not supporting it at all. He made his career on trolling the liberal establishment by accusing people of pedophilia or child sex trafficking.<br><br>Armed with a law degree, Cernovich claims to defend \u201cfree speech,\u201d in particular the freedom to harass women and make misogynistic, violent comments. He came to prominence through his role in #Gamergate, a coordinated campaign of harassment against women in the gaming industry. Bankrolled by a divorce and by the sale of his books, Cernovich operates at the fringe of the conservative mainstream, acting as a pass-through for thinly-sourced and conspiratorial scoops. Maybe I\u2019d be some f&#8212;&#8211;\u2019 schlub dude living a life of quiet desperation with three kids and a wife that hates me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-primary-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">&#8230;<br><br>In 2011, after his divorce from his first wife, Cernovich set up an advice blog \u201cDanger and Play.\u201d On it, he offered lifestyle advice on fitness, food or alternative medicine, and openly advocated for violence against women and non-consensual sex. The blog, \u201can online magazine for alpha males\u201d was inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche\u2019s quote, \u201cThe true man wants two things: danger and play. They encouraged me to go to the police and then banned me when I did and told me I should just move on. People in other TST locations keep telling me &quot;oh, that's just Austin chapter&quot; when it's brought up, but it's not. It involved the entire international council, of which includes a member that is a sex worker whom didn't stand up for me OR other people in a separate instance attacked for being engaged in consentual polyam relationships and slut shamed. The ADA didn't proceed with the case after almost a year of back and forths with me and multiple other victims of this, whom I won't name here because I don't have their permission. Not because of lack of belief, but because it wasn't recorded and there weren't any sober witnesses to what happened, so they didn't think they could provide proof to a jury without reasonable doubt. Some of these things happened to these others YEARS ago and they reached out to me upon realizing who this person was. I wasted almost a year of my life and this person now has a defamatory website up with my name along with several others, some of whom weren't even involved in the case. The detective I was speaking with encouraged me to reach out to a civil attorney, but I don't think any of us have the energy left to be going at this for years to come. Which I guess was his goal, really? I want to post all the files and I want to share everything I know. It kills me a little every day that I can't and I feel like he just got away with doing this to me and all these others. I just hope one day he gets held accountable and it doesn't happen to anyone else. One thing I keep going back to in my mind is the commentary from the Austin leadership about why this was a TST issue and not a local authority issue to begin with. Then, only to ban me and others they *presumed* were a part of the police case they requested that I file shortly after. Several of the people banned locally weren&#8217;t even a part of the case, but were blocked from any form of communication with leadership to ask about what was going on or even discussing this. I&#8217;m still not convinced they took any action at all against the member of leadership that I filed this report against. <\/em><br><br><em>I&#8217;m really frustrated and torn because I stand 1000% behind the ideals and social values that TST claims to hold. However, every step taken since all of this began their actions have shown the exact opposite of what they preach, both on a local and international level. Part of me wants to give them excuses on an international level by saying maybe I just don&#8217;t have the whole story, but realistically if they really cared they would have actually put in an effort to reach out instead of supporting the local decision of isolating me and others taking a stand with me. <\/em><br><br><em>I just found out recently that I&#8217;m still apparently a member of TST International, just not locally? They encouraged me to go to the police and then banned me when I did and told me I should just move on. <\/em><br><br><em>People in other TST locations keep telling me &#8220;oh, that&#8217;s just Austin chapter&#8221; when it&#8217;s brought up, but it&#8217;s not. It involved the entire international council, of which includes a member that is a sex worker whom didn&#8217;t stand up for me OR other people in a separate instance attacked for being engaged in consentual polyam relationships and slut shamed. <\/em><br><br><em>The ADA didn&#8217;t proceed with the case after almost a year of back and forths with me and multiple other victims of this, whom I won&#8217;t name here because I don&#8217;t have their permission. Not because of lack of belief, but because it wasn&#8217;t recorded and there weren&#8217;t any sober witnesses to what happened, so they didn&#8217;t think they could provide proof to a jury without reasonable doubt. Some of these things happened to these others YEARS ago and they reached out to me upon realizing who this person was. <\/em><br><br><em>I wasted almost a year of my life and this person now has a defamatory website up with my name along with several others, some of whom weren&#8217;t even involved in the case. The detective I was speaking with encouraged me to reach out to a civil attorney, but I don&#8217;t think any of us have the energy left to be going at this for years to come. Which I guess was his goal, really? <\/em><br><br><em>I want to post all the files and I want to share everything I know. It kills me a little every day that I can&#8217;t and I feel like he just got away with doing this to me and all these others. I just hope one day he gets held accountable and it doesn&#8217;t happen to anyone else. <\/em><br><br><em>One thing I keep going back to in my mind is the commentary from the Austin leadership about why this was a TST issue and not a local authority issue to begin with. During this period of time, [White] was still living in [Red's] office.\" class=\"wp-image-934\" style=\"width:700px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have never re-shared the smear website that was made to target that person who came forward about their sexual assault \u2014 which to this day is still the top search result for that person&#8217;s name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We whited out the name of the person the site is targeting, but it may not be obvious that the people who made this smear website actually <em>named the guy themselves<\/em> before at some later point switching to &#8220;John Doe&#8221;; we are censoring his name here where they did not because The Satanic Temple is very malicious but also astoundingly incompetent.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image-9.png\" alt=\"T.S. The site then named them about 170 times to make sure it would be in any search results for them \u2014 by employers, people dating them in the future, anyone! \u2014 as well as naming a friend, family of that friend, and others many dozens of times, too. Of course, they always say &#8220;church&#8221; and not &#8220;The Satanic Temple&#8221;, presumably because they didn&#8217;t want it coming up in TST results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We really don&#8217;t want to show much of this. Every time we have cause to re-visit this doxing, smear website, it is newly revolting. I myself experienced harassment and abuse from members who have now left the organization. They were famous for creating an evocative look that got national and international press coverage for The Satanic Temple, and they were upset that TST kept using their image for self-promotion, even years after they left due to repeated harassment unaddressed by local leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can read more about that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/QueerSatanic\/status\/1503904190862544897\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/footnotes-why-we-left-the-satanic-temple\/#dem\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Surely there are more than we know about since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SatanicTemple_Reddit\/comments\/f4ndp2\/second_thoughts_after_lupercalia_is_this_normal\/\">events like &#8220;Lupercalia&#8221;<\/a> seem especially fraught and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SatanicTemple_Reddit\/comments\/f4ndp2\/comment\/fhrw23i\/\">dangerous to talk about<\/a>; TST was willing to sue <em>Newsweek<\/em> for libel for talking about TST&#8217;s official <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/QueerSatanic\/status\/1489480660125249536\">BDSM events and orgies<\/a>, which are even laid out in the Temple&#8217;s own &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/images\/f\/f3\/TST-Sex-Positive-Guidelines.pdf\">Sex-Positive Guidelines<\/a>&#8220;. Structurally, TST is set up as a hierarchy where you have to go through the friends of people you have complaints about, and if you have complaints about the people at the top? Well, here is where it gets complicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because, no, we are not aware of a moment in court where TST co-owner Doug Misicko \u2014 or as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LucienGreaves\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lucien Greaves<\/a>&#8221; or as &#8220;Doug Mesner&#8221; \u2014 says, &#8220;Yes, I spend the abortion rights advocacy fundraising instead on my personal bills.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RATHER<\/strong>, what we have is a giant black box for the finances of the &#8220;constellation of affiliate entities&#8221; that make up The Satanic Temple. And: we have pinpricks that let light come through from various official filings and court activity to illuminate the outlines of what&#8217;s inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some will claim the outlines that result are not sufficient to prove impropriety by The Satanic Temple, especially between its for-profit and nonprofit entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, if so, today is a good day \u2014 and we don&#8217;t mean secretly spending more billable hours on legal threats to young mothers.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-35.png\" alt=\"&quot;Today is a good day for The Satanic Temple to release its finances&quot; text atop a painting of an anthropomorphic black goat in a suit with flowers holding the hand and apparently courting an elven peasant girl\" class=\"wp-image-850\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Worth keeping in mind: if we were describing Christian televangelists or <a href=\"https:\/\/jezebel.com\/satanic-temple-abortion-rights-religious-exemption-real-1849073332#:~:text=I%20just%20want%20to%20make%20sure%20that%20people%20are%20aware%20about%20organizations%20that%20might%20not%20be%20good%20for%20them\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">crisis pregnancy centers<\/a> this way, these same people defending The Satanic Temple with &#8220;nothing to see here&#8221; would not be nearly so charitable waving off the red flags of a church-business-nonprofit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Four things to guide you as we examine TST&#8217;s remaining complaint:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will read Doug Misicko (&#8220;Lucien Greaves&#8221;) admit that he was paying himself with The Satanic Temple&#8217;s funds but claim he never really kept track of how much.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will read Misicko and Cevin Soling (&#8220;Malcolm Jarry&#8221;) admit that they don&#8217;t see a difference between the various entities in The Satanic Temple, even though some are for-profit and others nonprofit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will see some specific examples where exactly this fungibility of legal entities and their funding is demonstrated, with neither funds nor entities being kept discrete as they should.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Together, these establish that money donated to nonprofit entities ends up being distributed back to the for-profits also owned by Misicko and Cevin Soling (and their pseudonyms) which they use to pay themselves an undisclosed amount they claim not to keep track of.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again, what <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/satanxhousewife\">@satanxhousewife<\/a> said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@thesatanichousewife\/video\/7093692392297041194\">her video<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-default has-black-color has-white-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-e305d2cd833151fe0f43ca12f20830cc is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-primary-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In a recent court case for something else TST that is involved in&#8230;Lucien openly admitted to taking the money fundraised for court cases and for abortion rights advocacy and using it to pay for his personal bills instead.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Specifically, this references <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/7274697\/189\/2\/cave-v-thurston\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Doug Misicko&#8217;s testimony in Cave v. Thurston<\/a> on March 10, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What Misicko (a.k.a. &#8220;Lucien Greaves&#8221;) admits under questioning is having <em>no <\/em>set compensation and not keeping track of it. (Probably.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doug Misicko is giving a deposition because he&#8217;s supposed to be able to answer this stuff, but when pressed on specifics, it&#8217;s all ignorance, supposition, and generalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It goes on from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, Misicko uses The Satanic Temple card and sometimes pays his rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I just stay afloat.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Doug Misicko (&#8220;Lucien Greaves&#8221;) claims <strong><em>not to know<\/em><\/strong> how much anyone else is getting paid, including <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cevinsoling\">Cevin Soling<\/a> (a.k.a. &#8220;Malcolm Jarry&#8221;)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-default is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;How much do you pay yourself?&#8221; <br>&#8220;Dunno. More relevant for our purposes here, Douglas Alexander Misicko will try to obfuscate, try to join a federal court case <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/7274697\/17\/cave-v-thurston\/\"><em>as &#8220;Lucien Greaves<\/em>&#8220;<\/a>, and, again, even try to <em>lie <\/em>while under oath about how he paid himself with fundraising money, utilizing his pseudonyms to do it. This is what they have shown themselves to be on the record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that&#8217;s terribly and unnecessarily generous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indeed, we also have evidence that The Satanic Temple is not just <em>incompetent<\/em> but actively <em>malicious<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For that, we&#8217;re going to re-visit TST&#8217;s lawsuit against Belle Plaine \u2014 which these absolute <em>geniuses<\/em> lost so badly their lawyer got sanctioned for almost $17,000, and they are appealing all of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Bonus: Earlier when we mentioned Matt &#8220;u\/stormsmcgee&#8221; Kezhaya <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/17042463\/38\/united-federation-of-churches-llc-v-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">going on Reddit for an AMA<\/a> and helpfully confirming, indeed, it <em>was<\/em> a SLAPP suit TST was pursuing against us, the occasion of that AMA was the unofficial Satanic Temple subreddit discovering the embarrassing outcome of Belle Plaine and Kezhaya trying to explain away the penalty the judge imposed on him.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we look in detail at Belle Plaine, these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/15064653\/84\/1\/satanic-temple-the-v-belle-plaine-city-of\/\">November 2020 depositions<\/a> help a lot of what has already been alluded to come together more directly with something we can put specific numbers to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First is an invoice that leads to The Satanic Temple&#8217;s owner and chief speaker Doug Misicko engaging in a &#8220;Mrs. Doubtfire&#8221;-style performance, ultimately revealing an especially embarrassing lie about self-payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of that was already covered in great detail <a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/this-invoice-reveals-the-inner-workings-of-the-satanic-temples-finances\/\">in a previous article<\/a>, so we&#8217;ll try not to repeat ourselves too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The image on its own really speaks volumes in terms of whatever the fuck it is The Satanic Temple&#8217;s owners are trying to pull with all of these overlapping corporations.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/image-12-791x1024.png\" alt=\"Redacted name likely &quot;Doug Misicko&quot;  Bill To: REASON ALLIANCE \/ TST 64 Bridge Street Salem, MA 01970 April 2, 2017 Invoice for Services For the facilitation of the construction of a Veteran's Memorial Monument to be placed in Belle Plaine, MN. Just, no one outside of the courts bothers to try to catch them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The original redaction in that invoice hid the name of the recipient entirely, but Cevin Soling \u2014 giving his deposition as &#8220;Malcolm Jarry&#8221; \u2014 flubbed a reference to Doug Misicko (who is himself on the record as &#8220;Lucien Greaves&#8221; and discusses &#8220;Doug Mesner&#8221; in the third person), which led the Minnesota city&#8217;s attorney to take notice of something to follow up on later.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-65.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-887\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reminder: this is a discussion of what happened to <em>one-third<\/em> of all money brought in for a Reason Alliance, Ltd., fundraiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <a href=\"https:\/\/href.li\/?https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/images\/7\/7c\/02260841_Reason_Alliance_2017_IRS_990EZ.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">their IRS paperwork for that year<\/a>, they say Doug Misicko had no compensation: $0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the record, Misicko even claims a couple of times that someone else got the money being discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In reality\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-66.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-888\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Misicko, as &#8220;Lucien Greaves&#8221;, finally says, &#8220;I believe that was paid to the name Doug Mesner. &#8230; It doesn&#8217;t matter either way. It was &#8212; it was a 4,000 dollar payment &#8212; to me.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For some reason, Matt &#8220;We don\u2019t use screen names in the courts, we use legal names&#8221; Kezhaya was in the room and OK with all this at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Curious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe Doug Misicko \u2014 erm, &#8220;Lucien Greaves,&#8221; erm, &#8220;Doug Mesner&#8221; \u2014 sincerely and truly just doesn&#8217;t have the brain power required to keep track of the minute and subtle differences between &#8220;for-profit&#8221; and &#8220;nonprofit&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite being the co- and sometimes officially <em>sole <\/em>owner of all these legal entities, maybe Doug Misicko is just rather <em>dull <\/em>after all, at least for this sort of complicated numbers business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is someone else keeping track, then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, when asked about it while giving his deposition, Cevin Soling as &#8220;Malcolm Jarry&#8221; explained that Reason Alliance Ltd. was the entity that got permit for a monument instead of The Satanic Temple because it was the one that got the insurance for it because that was easier. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-74.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-901\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Reason Alliance is a nonprofit whose mission is to promote the tenets of The Satanic Temple,&#8221; TST owner Cevin Soling says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To the owners of The Satanic Temple, that seems to make it interchangeable with the for-profit United Federation of Churches, LLC, dba &#8220;The Satanic Temple&#8221;, for more than just insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, Doug Misicko characterizes the distinction much the same: there isn&#8217;t one.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-68.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-895\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-69.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-896\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-70.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-897\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I also don&#8217;t know why the Satanic Temple would be listed as the applicant as opposed to Reason Alliance. <strong>So, it really makes no &#8212; no difference to me<\/strong>. &#8230; <strong>It may as well be Reason Alliance or the Satanic Temple<\/strong>,&#8221; Misicko says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Incredible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also have <a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/what-the-hell-is-the-satanic-temple-ep-4-reason-alliance-ltd\/\">talked before<\/a> about how The Satanic Temple&#8217;s sole entity forced to be somewhat transparent about its financials (because it is a <em>non-church <\/em>nonprofit) admitted to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>paying Cevin Soling directly <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>paying Soling and Doug Misicko&#8217;s for-profit directly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-71.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-898\" style=\"width:700px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We talked about how, by doing a little bit of deduction, we can also see that tens of thousands of dollars in &#8220;legal fees&#8221; for Reason Alliance, Ltd., were actually going to the for-profit company owned by the same two people who owned the nonprofit since United Federation of Churches, LLC, was involved in litigation while Reason Alliance, Ltd., was not.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-72.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-899\" style=\"width:700px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last public filing with the IRS was in 2019 when revenue for Reason Alliance was $360,418 \u2014 having <a href=\"https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/index.php\/Reason_Alliance,_Ltd#Public_Financial_History\">more than doubled reported revenue<\/a> every year it existed. That&#8217;s the year Penny Lane&#8217;s propaganda film &#8220;Hail Satan?&#8221; was released, bringing TST to new heights of exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are inclined to handwave off instances of a merely few stray thousand dollars here and there, keep that in mind. Easy-peasy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who decides what The Satanic Temple ought to be spending money on? Well, Doug Misicko and Cevin Soling, so they can give themselves tax-exempt money any time they want to, as much as they want to, to do with whatever they and they alone deem best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It really makes no &#8212; no difference to me&#8221;, indeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, we don&#8217;t have to rely on other statements by The Satanic Temple&#8217;s owners that their for-profit corporation and tax-exempt church sharing the name, website, and more are <em>also <\/em>interchangeable or all &#8220;one thing&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We know this because TST tried to raise $30,000 with their church \u2014 to sue us with their for-profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"903\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-76.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-903\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"902\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-75.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-902\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But also other places with even slight transparency. Presumably, they aren&#8217;t stupid enough to be putting records of their lawsuit threats <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheSatanicWiki\/status\/1462231609776619521\">into their national meeting notes<\/a> anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So just based on <a href=\"https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/index.php?title=The_Satanic_Temple#Lawsuits\">what we <em>can <\/em>see<\/a>, The Satanic Temple seems to devote little of its resources to litigation relating to abortion rights versus pursuing private grudges like appealing its self-sabotaged Belle Plaine case, fussing with Arkansas State Sen. If you think Misicko&#8217;s word during sworn testimony should be good enough, note how &#8220;not more than $2,000 per month&#8221; was <em>immediately <\/em>hedged after a follow-up question, for example, but also other instances he was caught lying.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You have read Misicko and Cevin Soling (&#8220;Malcolm Jarry&#8221;) admit that they don&#8217;t see a difference between the various entities in The Satanic Temple, even though some are for-profit and others nonprofit. <em>Repeatedly<\/em> you saw that happen, and we really don&#8217;t have access to <em>that much<\/em> considering how many years and entities there are that need examined.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You saw some specific examples where <em>exactly this<\/em> fungibility of legal entities and their funding was demonstrated, with neither funds nor entities being kept discrete as they should. That Belle Plaine invoice was the first time we saw that Spectacle Films, Inc., might still be involved financially, years after it supposedly no longer was, so it really is difficult to know what all we&#8217;re missing here.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Together, these establish that money donated to nonprofit entities ends up being distributed back to the for-profits also owned by Misicko and Cevin Soling (and their pseudonyms) which they use to pay themselves an undisclosed amount they claim not to keep track of.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, there are those who hear all this and say, &#8220;What, so Lucien is just supposed to starve? So he took $2,000 or $4,000. Most devoted supporters of The Satanic Temple would argue that &#8220;Lucien&#8221; deserved more for how hard we worked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The point is <em>no accountability<\/em> for this money being entrusted to them and no way to evaluate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s <em>absolutely no reason <\/em>to believe these people \u2014 even under oath! \u2014 given how much they have been caught lying. Doug Misicko <em>claimed<\/em> he paid himself nothing from <a href=\"https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/images\/7\/7c\/02260841_Reason_Alliance_2017_IRS_990EZ.pdf\">Reason Alliance in 2017<\/a>, as he claimed every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-83.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-911\" style=\"width:700px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, we know Doug Misicko got <em>at least<\/em> 17 percent of the money the nonprofit spent that year ($4,000) to &#8220;encourage reasoning&#8221; \u2014 though it&#8217;s still unclear exactly which corporation that money was routed through. We only know this because <em>documents turned over in discovery during litigation<\/em> caught Misicko in a lie he was attempting to obfuscate with the use of multiple pseudonyms simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you start off treating money coming into your various corps as petty cash to be used as you alone see best, admit sometimes &#8220;best&#8221; is helping you &#8220;stay afloat&#8221;, you fudge the numbers on official filings, and you provide no documentation or even <em>indication<\/em> that you&#8217;ve cleaned up since \u2014 people are right to be concerned about where donation money, including money for abortion rights, is actually going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We haven&#8217;t even really talked about the for-profit for The Satanic Temple TV (<a href=\"https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/index.php\/Cinephobia_LLC\">Cinephobia LLC<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or about how &#8220;Goddess: The American Stripper&#8221; became &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/index.php?title=Winstonian_Enterprises_Ltd\">Winstonian Enterprises Ltd.<\/a>&#8221; a.k.a. &#8220;The Satanic Estate&#8221;. Sex workers are workers, but nepotism is nepotism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We haven&#8217;t really talked about the physical location, <a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/what-the-hell-is-the-satanic-temple-ep-1-salem-art-gallery\/\">the Salem Art Gallery<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With <em>that<\/em> for-profit, the owners while being deposed reported <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/QueerSatanic\/status\/1528872185376301057\">incredibly <em>round<\/em> numbers<\/a> in terms of ticket revenue \u2014 after claiming not to know when asked the first time \u2014 again, for a monument fundraised for the nonprofit &#8220;Reason Alliance Ltd.&#8221; but ultimately supposedly for a different for-profit &#8220;United Federation of Churches, LLC.&#8221; We haven&#8217;t talked about the Baphomet statue which was a result of fundraising before any of these entities except Spectacle Films existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We haven&#8217;t talked about whatever &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220718203008\/https:\/\/satanicweddings.com\/\">The Satanic Chapel<\/a>&#8221; is and what their <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220718203020\/https:\/\/satanicweddings.com\/collections\/wedding-packages\">$6,000 wedding packages<\/a> fall under.
