That suit has already had the Religious Freedom Restoration Act claim dismissed and been&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/59182019\/the-satanic-temple-inc-v-hellerstedt\/?filed_after=&amp;filed_before=&amp;entry_gte=&amp;entry_lte=&amp;order_by=desc#entry-34\">stayed till June 2022<\/a>. Nevertheless, TST announced\u2014and fundraised at least $200,000 off of!\u2014the promise they&#8217;d sue Texas about&nbsp;<em>something<\/em>, but so far nothing has happened and TST likely has use for the money in their <a href=\"https:\/\/the.satanic.wiki\/index.php?title=The_Satanic_Temple#Lawsuits\">many other ongoing, struggling lawsuits<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>[Edit: In February 2022, The Satanic Temple did file <a href=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/re_SearchTX-SATANIC-TEMPLE-INCANN-DOE-VS.-TEXAS-HEALTH-AND-HUMAN-SERVICES-COMMISSION-CECILE-YOUNG-EXECUTIVE-COMMISSIONER-OF-THE-HEALTH-AND-HUMAN-SERVICE-COMMISSION-D-1-GN-22-000560.pdf\">a challenge to SB8 in state court<\/a> but with the same &#8220;Ann Doe&#8221; from the previous year who had already gotten her abortion by the time the &#8220;bounty bill&#8221; came into effect; therefore, it was not clear what standing they would actually be able to assert. In 2015, the federal &#8220;Mary Doe&#8221; case in Missouri was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/7760360\/21\/the-satanic-temple-v-jeremiah-jay-nixon\/\">dismissed due to lack of standing<\/a> because she was no longer pregnant by a few days, a decision <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courtlistener.com\/docket\/7760360\/26\/the-satanic-temple-v-jeremiah-jay-nixon\/\">upheld on appeal<\/a>.] <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To take a moment to understand why, it might be worth looking at the state-court Mary Doe case which lost at every level, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/news\/local\/crime-and-courts\/missouris-high-court-tosses-case-alleging-abortion-law-violated-satanic-temple-members-rights\/article_ae0e57c3-305e-51e6-b6cd-28699d41fada.html\">unanimously at the Missouri State Supreme Court<\/a>, but the chief justice&#8217;s concurring opinion stated the issue very clearly at its most fundamental level:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-plain has-black-color has-white-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-0130f98ce8f86561e1a99e238b748af6 is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>If the mere coincidence of law and religious belief violates the Establishment Clause, then innumerable, generally accepted legal proscriptions against murder, theft, and other destructive behaviors are also unconstitutional. Of course, that is not the law&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<cite>Mo. Supreme Court Chief Justice Zel M. Fischer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courts.mo.gov\/file.jsp?id=136817\">concurring opinion<\/a> <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large\" id=\"billboard\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/image-3-1024x673.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:429px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>December 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/QueerSatanic\/status\/1400302377312292864\">roadside billboard campaign<\/a>: &#8220;Our religious Abortion Ritual Averts Many State Restrictions&#8221;.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"legal-scholars\">When PolitiFact says the Temple&#8217;s legal strategy &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/article\/2022\/may\/05\/satanic-temples-fight-over-abortion-rights-roe-v-w\/\">so far is unsuccessful<\/a>,&#8221; they are being exceedingly generous. Lead Stories interviewed three of their own legal scholars, and without appearing familiar with TST&#8217;s court history, came to <a href=\"https:\/\/leadstories.com\/hoax-alert\/2022\/05\/fact-check-no-guarantee-that-joining-the-satanic-temple-might-give-legal-religious-protection-to-terminate-a-pregnancy.html\">somewhat more definitive conclusions<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Is it possible that a member of the Satanic Temple can successfully challenge laws against abortion based on a religious belief in bodily autonomy? Yes, it is possible. But I suspect that the state would have the better argument,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luc.edu\/law\/faculty\/facultyandadministrationprofiles\/brunson-samuel.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Samuel D. Brunson<\/a>, the&nbsp;Georgia Reithal&nbsp;professor at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, wrote. &#8220;As much as we want an easy, costless way to deal with potential anti-abortion laws in a post-Roe world, something that seems easy and slick and too cute by half is probably not going to work.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The simple, and <em>urgent<\/em>, takeaway is that&nbsp;<strong>no one should rely on The Satanic Temple to get an abortion because their marketing does not match their reality.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;In fact, based on past history&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.riverfronttimes.com\/stlouis\/the-satanic-temple-sued-missouri-to-push-for-abortion-rights-then-everything-went-to-hell\/Content?oid=31557301&amp;showFullText=true\">like the Temple&#8217;s first abortion client Mary Doe<\/a>, relying on TST is probably the <em>worst<\/em> thing a person could do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"When-it-comes-to-The-Satanic-Temple\">When it comes to The Satanic Temple, there&#8217;s always more and it&#8217;s always worse, but again, don&#8217;t take our word for it.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/queersatanic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/image-1.png\" alt=\"The Satanic Temple\nPaid for by THE SATANIC TEMPLE  \u00b7 \nAbortion laws in TX violate our religious rights and TST has taken legal action. If TX judges abide by the Constitution and legal precedent, then those who share our deeply held beliefs will be exempt from the state\u2019s inappropriate efforts to restrict access to abortion services.\nIn many states, abortion would be prohibited if Roe v.
