Kirby (she\/her) (@caitskirby) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/caitskirby\/status\/1469865691968901124?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 12, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may be inclined to say \u201chaha me\u201d, but if you are not the sort of person whom news would describe the death of with \u201cpre-existing conditions\u201d or \u201ccomorbidities\u201d, you are probably not thinking about this tweet right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overwhelmed, people have said, &#8220;I&#8217;m over this.&#8221; Out of sheer exhaustion, so many people have said \u201cit\u2019s time to get back to normal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This \u201cnormal\u201d is one where many disabled people \u2014 including those who are vaccinated but especially those for whom the vaccine is less or ineffective \u2014 are supposed to choose between risking their lives or long term health and choosing social isolation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s time to get back to normal\u201d has involved removing all of the accessibility features that became standard when ableds\u2019 health was in greater jeopardy and needed such policies and technology, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More people in the USA will have died of Covid in 2021 than in 2020, and thus the pandemic is considered \u201cover\u201d only because we prefer that it would be.
